Montreal native and nature lover Enrico Andreoli has always been vocal about how beautiful his hometown is and how inviting it can be to hikers and fellow nature lovers. However, for this blog, he wants to take the time to remind people that while beautiful, nature does hold its perils. In this case, Enrico Andreoli points to some of the more dangerous wildlife in and around Montreal.

Grizzly Bear

They may look cute and cuddly, but make no mistake about it, the grizzly bear is one of the most dangerous animals that people will ever come across in the open. They have a very sensitive sense of smell, which is why they are known to wander into campsites where food is abundant. They are bigger than most land predators, and people are always cautioned to keep their distance.

Cougar

Cougars are rather huge cats that feed on rodents and squirrels. They are stealthy and lethal. They are also quite territorial and will attack almost anything they find in their area, humans included.

Giant moose

While not a predator, the giant moose is more than equipped to defend itself. Its antlers are pure bone, and when it charges a person, it can do as much damage as a speeding car. Moose have been known to harm hikers and campers fatally, Enrico Andreoli of Montreal adds.
